West Yorkshire Police
Fully glazed reception areas often experience heat and light gain which make the working environment uncomfortable. This police scientific support unit was no exception and almost a year after Dearnleys had installed Astralux system 3000 roller blinds to all the office and laboratory windows they were set the challenge of shading the full height reception glazing.
The ideal solution would have been electrically operated Astralux system 3000 roller blinds but with the building complete and no local power feeds manually operated Astralux roller blinds were specified. The flame retardant screen material matched the other blinds in the building and significantly reduced glare and heat gain whilst still preserving an external view.
Astralux 3000 roller blind system is available with the following control options; electric, side chain, gearbox with permanently attached or removable handle and spring operation.
As this was a completed building access to safely install the blinds was made using a scissor lift with an extendable platform.
