TUI Headquarters
This headquarters building was originally built around a courtyard but with increases in staff numbers additional office space was created by constructing an atrium. Dearnleys technical experts were invited to propose a solution to help control heat gain and glare.
Dearnleys proposed the Astralux 5000 tensioned roller blind as this system holds the fabric under constant tension so they can be stopped at any point along their travel.
Each blind was fitted with a 240V AC motor with an integral radio receiver to allow wireless operation from any position below.
Special brackets were designed and installed to allow safe installation to the tubular structure.
In total 36 solar shading systems were installed covering some 600 square metres.
