The Curve is a £20m development at Teesside University which houses 4 floors of flexible learning spaces including a 145 seat lecture theatre.
The architect wanted to include many sustainable features and this included the solar shading devices from Dearnleys.
The Curve won the RICS North East Project of the Year Award in 2016.
Dearnleys supplied and installed Astralux 3000 motorised roller blinds, chain operated roller blinds and Astralux 2000 venetian blinds to this site.
The blinds were fitted with a 50mm gap from the glazing to prevent any thermal shock to the glass and the motorised versions were operated by radio controlled handsets.
The motorised blinds were also fitted with a neat fascia system to conceal the blinds when fully retracted.
See video of motorised roller blinds here.
