This £28m project to create a 1,300 pupil school was the first to receive an 'Excellent' rating for architecture and the built environment from CABE.
With such a large amount of glazing used Dearnleys were asked to advise on a solar shading solution to effectively control glare and heat gain without losing the external view or the ability to harvest natural light.
Dearnleys manufactured and installed the Astralux 3000 roller blind system with Corona flame retardant screen fabric. For areas where greater light exclusion was required Dearnleys fitted the Astralux 4000 Dim-out blind system.
In total Dearnleys installed over 550 roller blinds at this school on a phased programme over a year.
