Siemens plc
Siemens is a leading global engineering and technology services provider with over 16,000 staff in the UK.
This new office facility had curtain walling to the main façade and the architect knew that a suitable shading system would be needed to control glare and heat gain, despite the Brise Soleil incorporated into the building design.
Dearnleys proposed the Astralux 3000 roller blind system fitted with a screen material to reduce glare but, depending on external light conditions, still permit an external view.
The roller blinds were manually operated and compliant with the safety requirements of BS EN 13120.
A square fascia was fitted to conceal the roller barrel and fabric for a neater appearance.
In total 115 blinds were installed on this project.
