These schools were developed through phase 1 of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.
Newfield is a secondary school and Talbot a special needs school, both based on the same site. Dearnleys were involved at an early stage to advise on the solar shading for the project.
Three specifications of window blinds were agreed:
Astralux 1000 vertical blind system in most of the class room areas - 200 nbr installed
Astralux 3000 roller blind system with dim-out fabric to areas where a high degree of light exclusion was required such as computer and audio-visual areas - 50 nbr installed
Astralux 4000 dim-out system blinds were supplied to provide room-darkening in laboratories - 12 nbr installed
