Leadenhall Building

The Leadenhall Building, affectionately known as the Cheesegrater, has the main façade angled at 10 degrees. Whilst this angled façade gives the building a very distinctive look it means that any blinds also have to work at this angle to ensure optimisation of both floor space and shading.

The client required blinds with a high degree of dim-out but stipulated the mullions could not be drilled for any fixings.

Dearnleys proposed the Astralux 3000 roller blind system fitted with a flame retardant room darkening fabric.

To keep the blinds parallel to the sloping glazing they were fitted with discrete guide wires.

The operating chains of the blinds were neatly retained to the steel mullions using a magnetic fixture to prevent drilling into the mullions.
