Bowcliffe Hall
Bowcliffe Hall is an events and meeting venue near Wetherby and has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment programme including the construction of a RIBA award winning extension in the shape of an aerofoil.
The design pays homage to Robert Blackburn who lived at Bowcliffe Hall and was the first Yorkshireman to design and build a powered aeroplane.
Whilst the full height glazing permits views across the stunning parkland there was a need to control light and glare when required.
Dearnleys supplied and installed Silent Gliss heavy duty motorised roller blinds with tow blind types to each glazed panel. A screen blind to reduce glare but still permit a view through and a room-darkening blind to provide a high degree of dim-out when needed.
To conceal the blinds when not in use Dearnleys supplied and installed a bespoke powder coated pelmet and even made some of the room darkening blinds with white fabric so they could double up as projection screens.
All blinds were remote controlled using a radio control (wireless) handset.
Dearnleys also supplied and fitted motorised room-darkening blinds to the Drivers Club restaurant in the main house.
