Large, high level, elliptical rooflight – no problem for Dearnleys

25 Oct 2016

The Atrium at Peterborough Arena offers almost 1,000 square metres of clear span space for exhibitions and events. The venue benefits from natural light not least from the central ceiling dome.

Natural light is often preferred over artificial light but in an event venue light levels need to be controlled and this is where Dearnleys expertise came to the fore.

Dearnleys have extensive experience in providing shading to atria and rooflights and on this site used the Astralux 6000 louvre system to provide light control to the elliptical rooflight.

This blind system has tiltable louvres (slats) which can be positioned to allow fine control of light ingress. The slats are mounted onto rack arms which can span very large areas of glazing and the slats can be cut to the shape of the glazing too.

Operated by motors with radio controlled handsets the blinds can be adjusted up to 200m away.

Also at this site Dearnleys supplied and fitted cassetted room darkening blinds and electric curtain tracks with flame retardant blackout curtains, again with radio control.
