It’s curtains for award winning project

18 May 2016

Unity Hall was built in 1904 for the Wakefield Industrial Co-operative Society and as a subsequent venue has staged everything from silent movies to wrestling and live music, attracting some of the biggest names in the 1970s and 1980s.

The venue underwent a major refurbishment recently with designs from Nick Brown Architects and Triton Construction acting as Main Contractor.

Dearnleys were contracted to supply and fit curtains tracks and curtains to all windows in the main hall. Astralux roller blinds were also supplied and installed to a number of windows in meeting spaces in the venue.

Since the initial refurbishment works have been completed Dearnleys have subsequently been contracted to fit a further 60 nbr Astralux 3000 blinds.

This project was a winner in the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Building Excellence Awards 2015 in the restoration and conversion category. See photos here.
