External venetians for SEN school

22 Jul 2016

The ability to control light and heat in classrooms is vital for a comfortable learning environment.

For heat reduction external blinds are far more effective than internal shading as the blinds prevent the heat from entering the building in the first place.

At this SEN school the requirement for external shading was also to prevent the pupils from interfering with the blinds.

Dearnleys installed 24 nbr Astralux 8000 motorised external venetian blinds to the first and second floors of the school.

The blinds are operated by the teachers using a radio controlled handset. They can easily be raised, lowered or the slats tilted to provide the required level of light and control solar gain.
