Crank operated roller blinds for glare control

12 Feb 2016

Xafinity is a market leading actuarial, pensions and employee benefit consultancy with over 400 staff and a turnover in excess of £50m.

The company’s offices in Leeds required shading to the windows to reduce glare and heat gain and Dearnleys provided their heavy duty Astralux 3000 roller blind system.

The blinds were fitted with a flame retardant screen fabric which significantly reduced glare but permitted an external view. Operation was by a gearbox fitted at the end of the roller barrel of the blind offering effortless operation by a winding handle.

Astralux blinds help employers to comply with The Health & Safety (Display Screen Equipment Regulations) 1992 which state:

“Windows shall be fitted with a suitable system of adjustable covering to attenuate the daylight that falls on the workstation.”
