170-bedroom airport hotel gets two blinds to every window

14 Dec 2016

This new Hyatt Place hotel in Hayes serves travellers using Heathrow Airport. Created from an unprepossessing 1960s office block the hotel features 170 bedrooms, 24-hour restaurant facilities and meeting rooms.

Dearnleys were contracted to provide shading systems to effectively control the light to the bedroom spaces and installed 2 blinds to every bedroom window. An Astralux 3000 roller blind with screen fabric filtered daylight and an Astralux 4000 room darkening blind provided the dim-out required for sleeping.

The bedroom blinds were manually operated using side chains and Dearnleys fitted tensioning devices to ensure they were child safe.

Astralux 3000 screen blinds were also installed to the restaurants, and in the meeting rooms screen blinds and Astralux 4000 room darkening roller blinds were also provided. These were a mix of manual and motorised systems with the latter operated by radio controlled handsets.

As with every Dearnleys job this was managed by a dedicated Project Manager to co-ordinate the installation of the blinds in conjunction with the build programme of the hotel.
